The strategic importance of the sector and the highly competitive economic environment for agrifood businesses imply an interpretation that mirrors the specificity of production, distribution, trade, and consumption. The master program ECONOMICS AND ADMINISTRATION OF AGRIFOOD BUSINESSES addresses this challenge through an interdisciplinary curriculum, designed in a way that blends courses in business and marketing with specific food and agricultural knowledge.

Our approach to teaching is to give students a diverse environment with many learning alternatives. This includes learning through games, group work, and even activities like debates in addition to more traditional lectures. Students learn how to manage a business, analyse the agribusiness value chain from farm to fork, and acquire the essential knowledge of products, inside as well as outside of the classroom.

Although the curriculum arises from an agricultural base, its applications are broad enough to apply to non agricultural business as well.

The program is accredited by the Romanian Agency of Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS) and by the Ministry of National Education and Scientific Research.

ECOLOGICAL ECONOMICS (EE)

The use of the world’s natural resources and climate change have an impact on all of us and these issues are the top challenges for our future. This program is ideal for students who want to improve environmental competencies and acquire skills that enable them to analyse, plan and implement solutions concerning nature and environment. By attending this program, students will develop an understanding of how economic activity gives rise to environmental and social problems and how to tackle these using specific tools. The main program learning objectives are:

• to know how to deal with environmental and natural resource problems from an economic perspective;
• to acquire an understanding of how to use the policy instruments for achieving environmental objectives and also economic interventions to address both climate change and natural disasters;
• to assess the economic value of the environment in order to include it in cost-benefit analysis and other economic decision making tools;
• to know how to limit optimally pollution using economic instruments, such as for instance green taxes, or subsidies etc

After graduation, our students have deeper knowledge in the field, specific qualification, and access to good career opportunities. They are working in environmental consultancies, non-governmental organizations, government, financial institutions and multinational companies. Also, many of our recent graduates have chosen to continue the research through doctoral studies.

MANAGEMENT OF RURAL AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS (MRRDP)

The exceptional values of the rural areas represent for Romania a great opportunity for generating cultural, social and economic benefits. This opportunity became more obvious after Romania joined the European Union. But transforming it into benefits requires an advanced expertise in developing and managing projects.

The master program MANAGEMENT OF RURAL AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS responds to this requirement through a specialized curriculum that provides knowledge and competences needed for managing each stage of the project cycle. This program will cover important topics such as management theories and approaches, capacity building, agricultural and rural development policy, communication and leadership etc.

A graduate in MRRDP is a professional with a pro-active entrepreneurial attitude, who is trained to anticipate and react to changes in demand and policies on local, national and international levels.
